Left to Right (while driving east along UT-9, Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway): The Great Arch, supposedly, the
largest blind arch in the world. Short, .1-mile tunnel along the route. Checkerboard Mesa; the horizontal
stripes are from sand-layer deposition, and the vertical cracks are from stress on the entire block from
wind and weather. The 1.1-mile tunnel's east entrance from the Overlook Trail (1 mile round trip).
Sandstone formations along the highway.
